PayProp is pleased to welcome Brenda Matyolo to its South African board of directors as a non-executive director. She joined the company on 1 July 2020.

Brenda is widely known as the Chief Operations Officer of African Rainbow Capital (ARC). She is also a director of ARC Financial Services and serves as a non-executive director on the boards of several other companies.

Professional background

Brenda is a qualified ontological coach through Newfield in the United States and holds a National Diploma in Accounting, as well as a Management Development Programme Diploma with Unisa School of Business Leadership.

She has considerable business experience gained through holding leadership and influential management positions in various organisations across different sectors. Her skills include building effective teams, managing projects, stakeholder management, growing small and medium enterprises to deliver shareholder value, transformation of supplier chains and assisting organisations to embrace and integrate SA’s Codes of Good Practice on Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment.

Brenda spent six years as an Executive at Amasondo Fleet Services, an empowerment company in the Eqstra Fleet Management group, where she was responsible for the day-to-day operations and financial management of the company, reporting directly to the Board.

Under her leadership, Amasondo grew to be a competitive player in the fleet management space as the country’s only profitable black women-owned and -managed company, as well as being selected as a Top 500 company.

It was during her tenure at Amasondo in 2014 that she was selected as a finalist for Top Young Executive of the Year. Her work experience spans over 24 years, 19 of which have been in managerial positions.

“We are proud to have Brenda on board and excited to put her tremendous knowledge and experience of the South African market to work, to maintain and grow our market leadership,” says Johannes van Eeden, Executive Chairman of Humanstate, PayProp’s parent company.
